I don’t know about you, but I remember my visits to the Natural History Museum when I was young vividly: I often was more fascinated by the wall murals or wall backgrounds depicting the natural habitat of the main displays in the exhibition than the actual displays themselves.

Whenever I see parrots in the wild my heart opens. Now we see parrots in cities like Barcelona, or even further North in Germany. I am glad some can adjust, but it does not mean the future is bright. Parrots, regardless from what continent, are one of the most endangered species on our planet.

I feel that I am not patient enough to be a fully skilled animal photographer. I also feel that I lack some of the skills required to be a fully fletched tradtional fine art artist, however what I love and enjoy is working on and with the computer and the digital medium. I long lent this talent to others, namely fulltime job employers of all sorts, but decided it was time to bring back this passion and talent to myself, to create something – at least in my eyes – more meaningful.
Meaningful for me means to celebrate and bring awareness to the beauty that surrounds us. All too often we are caught up in our day-to-day doing of … often nothing and this with extreme busyness. Often we are way too caught up in the virtual world (and thus in our mental world) and forget reality that is there with us and around us all this time.
For me meaningful means using the incredible advances of technology to bring us back to reality, to being, to enjoying and to actually seeing the beauty around us. I have hence decided to use my computer skills and enjoyment in digital art to highlight animals and birds, some endangered, some extinct, some from pre-historic times and some others long gone.
Surrounding my main hero of each creation will be a celebration of nature overall, beautiful landscapes, representations of real plants, trees, flowers – flora and fauna, both from now and from mesozoic (pre-historic) times.
I hope you enjoy my art and that – at least for a moment, it reflects back to you – from the virtual world – what a beautiful planet we live on; in the real world, every moment of the day.
